Dr Ladislav Csémy, is a research psychologist and head of the Centre of Epidemiological and Clinical Research in Addictions at the National Institute of Mental Health, Czech Republic. His professional interests include psychological and socio-medical aspects of addictions, psychiatric epidemiology, and health psychology. He has published widely on these themes and has participated in several major international studies. In 2019 he was one of the founders of Harm Reduction Academy [HRA] in Prague, an NGO focused on the implementation of harm reduction programs on smoking and disseminating awareness of the HR approaches in general. HRA’s ambition is to promote the development of scientific cooperation between experts from the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. Dr. Csémy closely co-works with leading academic and research institutions in the country. His scientific contribution was awarded by National Prize for Research in Psychiatry.
